Privacy Policy

No data collection while browsing

Simply viewing this website collects no personal data. There is no tracking, no analytics tools and no cookies for advertising purposes. One exception is contact by email, described separately further below.

No external services

This website loads no content from external servers. No fonts, scripts or icons from third parties are embedded. All files live on my own server. One single, deliberate exception is described further below.

One exception: password leak check

The password leak check on the Tools page is the only feature on this website that connects to an external service, the Pwned Passwords service from Have I Been Pwned. Your whole password is never sent. Your browser computes a hash and sends only the first 5 characters of it to the service. The check of whether your password is actually affected then happens locally in your browser. If you don't use this one tool, no external connection happens either.

Links to external tools

On the Tools page you'll find a collection of links to useful tools from other providers, such as Have I Been Pwned, VirusTotal or iLovePDF. These are plain links, nothing more. This website doesn't load anything from the linked sites and doesn't transmit anything to them. Only once you click one of these links yourself do you leave this website, and the respective other provider's privacy policy applies.

Network diagnostics page

The network diagnostics page shows technical values like screen size, language, or time zone. These values are read purely locally by your browser, nothing is sent to a server. Your public IP address is deliberately not shown, since that would require an external request.

QR code generator

The QR code generator on the Tools page generates the QR code entirely in your browser. The entered text is never transmitted anywhere and isn't stored.

Local storage in your browser

This website stores your choice between dark and light mode locally in your browser via the localStorage function. On the Knowledge Quiz page, your ongoing quiz statistics are additionally stored locally in the same way. This website also briefly remembers your most recently chosen language via sessionStorage, which is cleared automatically when you close the tab. This information never leaves your browser and is never transmitted to a server. You can delete it at any time via your browser's own functions.

Server logs

As is common with any web server, the hosting provider may briefly log technical access data like date, time and IP address, to keep the website running. This data isn't analyzed on this website.

Contact by email

On the Contact page you'll find my email address, kontakt@eliasdev.de. If you write to me there, I process your email address and the content of your message solely to answer your inquiry. This website itself doesn't store anything, the processing happens only in my email inbox.

Your rights

Regarding data you send me by email, you have, under the General Data Protection Regulation, in particular the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of the processing of your data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Just reach out to kontakt@eliasdev.de for that.

All other areas of this website, meaning FAQ, tools and quiz, continue to store or process no personal data, there it remains true that no stored data exists that would require a response to an access request.
